Ujjyalo Parivartan Samaj Nepal: Lighting the Path to Social Reform

Ujjyalo Parivartan Samaj Nepal has been established as a social organization with its central office located in Ward No. 5 of Birtamod Municipality, Jhapa. It was officially registered at the Jhapa District Administration Office on 2080/07/17 B.S. (2023 A.D.). It is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental youth-led organization initiated by young people from various places in the district aiming for social transformation.

The organization is chaired by Mandira Gautam, with Tika Ram Uprety as Secretary, Kumar Singh Thalang Limbu as Joint Secretary, and Lila Shrestha as Treasurer. The executive members include Urmila Chudal, Ramakanta Dev, and Devendra Mainali, all of whom are involved in community transformation activities. The advisory team consists of community representatives from Birtamod Ward No. 5 (Subash Bhattarai), Ward No. 4 (Rahul Sharma), Ward No. 2 (Kishor Paudel), Ward No. 5 (Rohit Prasai), Social worker Shailendra Sitaula, Ashish Ban and Chandra Shrestha, among others.

The organization’s mission is to work against the social evil of corruption and promote social transformation. It has been actively coordinating and conducting various programs in different wards of Jhapa district in partnership with local communities. It is also involved in conducting awareness campaigns and community-based events in coordination with local bodies.

The first community transformation program was conducted in Chandragadhi’s District Jail, where a free health check-up and distribution of free medicines took place. Similarly, in Ward No. 5, Distribution of free clothes took place to help people in need. Awareness campaigns have also been held in Wards 4, 2, and 5.

In line with its goals, the organization continues to engage in awareness and community transformation programs. It collaborates with various organizations and stakeholders to expand its efforts. It believes that real transformation comes from within each person and community and promotes a sense of collective responsibility.

Ujjyalo Parivartan Samaj Nepal emphasizes changing people’s mindset, behavior, culture, and value systems. It believes that development and transformation should be based on good governance and strong public participation. The organization highlights the importance of education, awareness, demonstration, and strong leadership in bringing about positive changes.

In order to create a responsible society and promote positive change, Ujjyalo Parivartan Samaj Nepal is playing an active role. It is committed to making Nepali society dynamic, responsible, and positive by enhancing cooperation and networking.
